One of the most wonderful things about New York in the Summer, Shakespeare in the Park was Joe Papp's vision of free theatre for the public.
Originally called the New York Shakepeare Festival, this instiution draws wonderful actors from stage, film and television. In recent years, we saw Meryl Steep play Mother Courage and Patrick Stewart as Prospero, to name a couple.
This season looks fantastic, with THE WINTER'S TALE Directed by Michael Greif and THE MERCHANT OF VENICE Directed by Daniel Sullivan.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and Al Pacino (hello, I think you know who Al Pacino is...) are among this year's acting treats!
